Type 1.5 Deck Archives

Type 1.5 is Type I (or Vintage, all old cards allowed), but with the restricted list banned.

Most of the decks that I build these days are Type 1.5. Some might find it odd that with the limited card set available in this game that I would choose a format that bans the most powerful cards. But when you find yourself adding 3rd and 4th colors just for a few restricted cards, always playing blue for the "power 9", all the decks start looking the same. So the effect of banning a number of cards is to actually add more variety to the game. Go ponder that one.

I have also built a number of Type I and Type II decks, though Type II is rather silly in this game.

The PC Game

This Magic: The Gathering circa 1997, the card set is 4th edition and earlier! You can create decks and play them against the AI. Or you can enter Shalandar, a fantasy adventure world where you fight duels for ante, and build decks from your spoils.

The Site

This is an abandonware website built to host this old game. Other people have been kind enough to write detailed setup instructions for operating systems up to Windows XP. Since I was not the person who even wrote the instructions, I do not offer support beyond these pages.

Magic: The Gathering is a trademark of Wizards of the Coast. This is a non-profit site for the personal entertainment of myself and my friends.
